  1. The Preventative Health Flagship aims to improve the health and wellbeing of Australians through the prevention and early detection of chronic diseases. Our research teams are focusing on:

    1. Better screening for, and early detection of disease
    2. Improved understanding of how diet and environment contribute to disease
    3. New protective foods and personalised nutritional and lifestyle approaches to disease prevention
    4. Better ways to monitor and measure health, incorporating improved use of health data.

    New, innovative ways to prevent and control cancer are being investigated by a network of scientists and clinicians in a fully integrated research program.

    The Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer (FCIC) is an internationally recognized centre of excellence offering significant translational research opportunities across disciplines. Much of the work is world-leading and involves international collaboration. Researchers have access to state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and clinical facilities, with a particular focus on prevention and early detection.
